1. Who we are
Caunsh ("the Service", "we", "us") is a personal life management application operated by Jodi Anoorabh LLP, a limited liability partnership registered in India. For privacy requests, contact privacy@caunsh.com.
2. Information we collect
We collect only what is necessary to run the Service:
2.1 Account information
- Email address and hashed password (for account authentication)
- Profile fields you provide (e.g. display name)
- Subscription tier and billing identifiers (we do not store full card numbers—see §2.5)
2.2 Content you create
- Tasks, subtasks, reminders, and calendar-related items
- Habits and completion history
- Journal entries (including mood-related metadata you add)
- Notes, folders, and links between notes
- Goals and milestones
- Relationship contacts and interaction logs
- Finance-related records you enter (e.g. subscriptions, snapshots, abundance logs)
- AI conversation history associated with your account
- Optional file attachments you upload (stored separately—see §4)
This content is yours. We process it to show it back to you, to sync it across devices, and to power features you turn on (including AI), as described below.
2.3 Search embeddings (notes)
To support search and AI-assisted retrieval across your notes, we may store mathematical embeddings derived from note content in our hosted database. Embeddings are not a full human-readable copy of your notes—they are numeric representations used for retrieval—and are scoped to your account with the same access controls as the rest of your data.
2.4 Usage and technical data
- AI usage: We track monthly AI token usage to enforce plan limits (see our Terms).
- Diagnostics: Error and crash data may be sent to a third-party diagnostics service to fix bugs. We configure this to minimise personal data in reports.
- Notifications: If you enable push notifications, a device token may be stored to deliver them.
2.5 Payments
Paid subscriptions are processed by a payment processor we contract with. We store billing-related identifiers needed to manage your plan (e.g. customer or subscription references)—not your full card or UPI secrets, which the payment processor handles under its own terms and security practices.
Applicable taxes (such as GST) are determined at payment time and shown at checkout and on your payment confirmation or tax invoice.
We do not sell your personal data, and we do not use advertising IDs or build third-party marketing profiles from your Caunsh content.
3. How we use your data
- Service delivery: Store, sync, and display your content; enforce security and access controls.
- AI features: When you use Caunsh AI (chat, voice, insights, mood analysis, etc.), relevant content is processed through our systems and may be sent to third-party AI API providers to generate responses. Those providers process data under their terms as data processors or sub-processors on our instructions. We configure AI use so that your content is not used to train public advertising models for those providers under our current commercial terms.
- Email: Transactional email (e.g. password reset) and optional product email (e.g. weekly digest on supported plans) may be sent through email delivery providers using your account email.
- Subscription management: Plan enforcement, receipts, and billing-related notices.
- Safety and abuse prevention: Detecting fraud, spam, or misuse of the Service.
We will not use your private journal, notes, or tasks for unrelated marketing, or to train public AI models for advertising, without your clear consent.
4. Storage, security, and attachments
- Primary application data (including embeddings metadata) is stored with a cloud database and hosting provider, using encryption in transit (TLS) and encryption at rest as offered by our providers.
- We apply access controls at the database and application layers so that, by design, your data is not readable by other users' accounts.
- Authentication uses short-lived sessions; refresh tokens are handled with secure cookies in the web app (see our cookie / session notices in-product where applicable).
- File attachments you upload are stored in object storage operated by our infrastructure providers (encrypted at rest where supported), with access mediated only through the Service.
5. Service providers and categories
We use third-party service providers to host and operate Caunsh. We do not publish the commercial names of all infrastructure or backend tools in this policy; we list categories so you know how your data may be processed:
- Cloud hosting, database, and authentication — storing account data, enforcing access controls, and running server-side logic (including subscription lifecycle where applicable).
- Edge or application compute — routing requests and processing parts of the Service close to users where we use such infrastructure.
- AI and machine-learning APIs — generating AI responses; processing may occur outside India depending on provider location and configuration. We use contractual and technical measures appropriate to the risk.
- Object storage — storing file attachments you upload.
- Payment processing — collecting payment for subscriptions; we do not receive your full card or UPI credentials.
- Email delivery — sending transactional and optional product email.
- Error and performance monitoring — diagnosing crashes and reliability issues.
You may contact us at privacy@caunsh.com for questions about transfers or to exercise rights under applicable law. We do not sell or rent your personal information to data brokers.
6. Retention
- Active account data is kept for as long as your account exists.
- Deleted items may be retained in a recoverable state for a limited period (e.g. trash) before permanent deletion, as implemented in the product.
- After account deletion, we aim to purge personal data within a reasonable window (typically up to 30 days), except where law requires longer retention.
- Billing and tax records may be retained for up to 7 years as required under Indian law (e.g. GST).
7. Your choices and rights
- Access and portability: Depending on your plan, you may export your data from Settings → Your data in the web app. If export is unavailable on your tier, contact privacy@caunsh.com.
- Correction: Edit profile and content directly in the app.
- Deletion: Use in-app deletion / data-clearing options where offered, or email privacy@caunsh.com.
- Email: Opt out of non-essential email from notification settings where available.
8. Children
Caunsh is not directed at children under 13. If you believe we have collected a child's data, contact privacy@caunsh.com and we will take appropriate steps.
9. Changes
We may update this policy. Material changes will be communicated by email or in-app notice when practical, before or when they take effect. Continued use after the effective date means you accept the updated policy.
